About Cozy Maze

Cozy Maze is a Frogame Original maze game with a simple pitch: thirty generated labyrinths, growing from a friendly 9×9 to a genuinely large 25×25, and three stars hidden in each — never on the shortest path.

The interesting mode is the fog. On Hard you only see a few cells around you and the trail you've already walked, which turns a maze you could solve at a glance into an exercise in memory and mapping. On Easy the whole maze is visible and it becomes a route-optimization puzzle instead: the shortest path is one thing, the shortest path that collects all three stars is another.

Movement is tuned for phones — a swipe runs you to the next junction instead of one cell at a time, so a big maze doesn't mean a hundred taps. Every maze ships with its shortest path computed, which is what your step-count star is measured against.

How to Play

Move with swipes (or arrow keys on desktop) — each input runs you to the next junction. Reach the exit to finish. Collect all three stars and keep your step count near the shortest path for three stars. Fog mode hides everything but your immediate surroundings and the trail behind you.

Cozy Maze Tips & Tricks

  • In fog mode, always take the unexplored branch first; the trail behind you is your map.
  • Grab stars on the way out, not on a detour — backtracking is what ruins step counts.
  • At a four-way junction, note which arms you haven't tried before moving on.
  • On big mazes, hug one wall as a fallback strategy when you lose your bearings.
  • The hint shows the next step of the true shortest path, so save it for when you're genuinely lost.

Cozy Maze FAQ

How are the mazes made?

Generated with a recursive backtracking algorithm from a fixed seed, then measured with a breadth-first solver that records the true shortest path.

What is fog mode?

A harder view that reveals only the cells immediately around you, plus the trail you've walked. It turns navigation into a memory challenge.

Do I need the stars to finish?

No — reaching the exit completes the level. The stars are the challenge layer, and they're deliberately placed off the shortest route.
