About Lantern Grid
Lantern Grid is a free Frogame logic puzzle with a simple aim: turn every light on. Each tap flips the chosen tile and its neighbours above, below, left and right. Corners affect fewer lights, so where you start matters.
The 24 chapters gradually introduce longer solutions. Every board is solvable, and the shortest possible move count appears below the grid. There is no timer: retry the same board, undo a move, or ask for a hint that marks one tile on a shortest route from your current position.
How to Play
Tap a lantern to switch it and its orthogonal neighbours. Lit tiles are gold; unlit tiles are green. Turn all 16 lights on to unlock the next chapter. Hint outlines a suggested tile without playing it for you.
Lantern Grid Tips & Tricks
- A corner tap changes three lights, an edge tap changes four, and an inner tap changes five.
- Tapping the same tile twice cancels that pair of moves.
- Use Undo to compare two choices; Retry returns to the original chapter board.

Lantern Grid FAQ
Can every chapter be solved?
Yes. All 24 starting boards are selected from states reachable from the all-lit board. Each displayed shortest path is calculated by a breadth-first search.
Does a hint make a move?
No. It outlines a tile on a shortest solution from your current board. You still choose whether to tap it.
Is progress saved?
The current chapter is saved in this browser when local storage is available. Reloading restarts that chapter; individual moves are not saved.
