About Cozy Screws
Cozy Screws is a Frogame Original in the screw-sorting genre: a woodshop of overlapping boards, each held up by colored bolts, and three color boxes waiting below. Tap a screw and it flies to its matching box; fill a box with three of a color and it clears away. Strip a board of all its screws and it drops out of the pile, revealing whatever was underneath.
The pressure comes from the buffer — just two spare slots for screws whose color box isn't open yet. Fill both with mismatched colors and you're stuck. That turns every tap into a small commitment: which color are you opening, what does it unlock, and can you afford to hold a stray screw while you finish the set?
Thirty levels build from a three-board warm-up to genuinely knotty piles with more colors than open boxes. Levels are generated by reverse-construction and machine-checked, so a legal disassembly order always exists. How to Play
Tap any screw to send it to the color box that matches it. Three of a color fill a box and clear it, opening room for the next color. Screws with no open box go to the buffer, which only holds two — fill it with mismatched colors and the level is lost. Remove every screw from a board and it falls away; clear the whole pile to finish the level.
Cozy Screws Tips & Tricks
- Count the screws of each color before you start — the color with exactly three visible is usually the safest box to open.
- Keep the buffer empty as your default state; treat every stray screw in it as a debt.
- Boards that free other boards are worth more than boards that just look easy.
- Extra Slot is best spent late, when one stubborn color is blocking an otherwise finished pile.
- If a level goes wrong early, restart — recovering from a clogged buffer costs more than a fresh run.

What happens when the buffer fills up?
The run ends. The buffer holds two screws whose color boxes aren't open, so filling it with mismatched colors is the fail state — and the whole skill of the game is avoiding that.
Can a level be impossible?
No. Levels are built by reverse-construction and verified, so a legal order always exists — though finding it under buffer pressure is another matter.
What do the helpers do?
Undo takes back your last screw, and Extra Slot permanently adds a third buffer space for that level. You get one of each per level, free.
